The 2019 Nissan Altima seats five passengers and is offered in five trim levels, listed as S, SR, SV, SL and Platinum. Under the hood is a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder powerplant that produces 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque, mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This engine comes with front-wheel drive, and buyers can choose an optional all-wheel-drive system. The SR and Platinum trims have an available 2.0-liter turbo-four that’s good for 248 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. This block is also connected to the CVT and is front-wheel drive only.
The 2019 Nissan Altima is very fuel efficient. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the 2.5-liter engine with front-wheel drive is 28 mpg city/39 mpg highway, while all-wheel-drive models return 26 mpg city/36 mpg highway.* The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine checks in with 25 mpg city/34 mpg highway.

Available safety features include ProPILOT Assist, an around-view monitor, the Safety Shield 360 system and rear sonar parking sensors.
